MelcoJet Inks
MelcoJet inks have a high optical density to assure vibrant colors. The inks are highly resistant to fading from washing and sunlight. Advanced MelcoJet White Ink
technology makes black shirt prints last longer, wash after wash. The color processing system provides 16 million colors to accurately show design details and provide superior print quality.

The Importance of Good Ink Flow
Apparel printing demands more ink flow than any other inkjet application. For good ink flow at higher rates, a Closed-Loop Ink Delivery System with sealed ink cartridges is essential.

Considerable engineering has gone into MelcoJet printers to ensure consistent ink flows. Many modified document printers marketed as “direct-to-garment” with open ink bottles may not meet such challenges.

Black Garment Printing and 8 Ink Channels
Some of the special advantages available only with MelcoJet printers are good ink flow and easy black shirt printing setup.

MelcoJet uses 8 bulk ink cartridges. The ink channels can be configured as two sets of CMYK (for white garments) or CMYK + 4 White Inks (for white and black garments). With either configuration, garments can be printed with vibrant colors and excellent ink flow. After the completion of black shirt jobs, you can easily revert back to an all colored ink configuration.

Important questions

How long does it take to print a shirt?
For a 10" x 10" print, it takes 40 to 60 seconds for a white shirt or about three minutes for a black shirt, depending on the design and desired ink saturation level.

How does MelcoJet compare with other “direct to garment” printers?
Most such printers are document printers with a garment loading frame underneath. These printers are less than ideal for textile printing. The print speed is too slow and ink flow volume too low to print in a single pass. Open ink bottles used in such systems are not the best way for trouble-free ink flow. MelcoJet Closed-Loop Ink Delivery System provides for continual ink flow and control of ink volume.
